Living Things Festival presents RIGHT IN THE EYE MOVIE-CONCERT

Movie - Concert // France
January 27, 7:00 PM at the Mary Irwin Theatre
For all audiences.

Right in the Eye, by Jean-François Alcoléa, is a movie-concert inspired by the films of Georges Méliès. Bringing to life the fantastical worlds of films such as The Impossible Voyage and the burlesque humour of shorts like The Four Troublesome Heads, Right in the Eye offers a poetic, playful, and contemporary interpretation of Méliès' timeless work.

Lighting and scenic design combine to create a distinctive visual identity, making Right in the Eye much more than a movie-concert—it is a richly imaginative and poetic theatrical experience. An original score has been composed for each film, giving every piece its own unique musical identity while seamlessly integrating it into the production as a whole.

It is inventive, elegant and moving…Right to one’s core !

OVER 100,000 SPECTATORS in France and abroad!
If imagination were to become manifest, it would not be surprising if it took the form of Georges Méliès. Considered by the Lumière brothers as the “creator of cinematic spectacle,” Méliès can best be described through any number of superlatives. He was an inventive pioneer, an emblematic figure and a brilliant entertainer who, in just a few years, revealed the full extent of his visionary genius—only to end up impoverished and largely forgotten.
