RCA and Living Things Present BIRDY BY HUNG DANCE

Birdy blends the flowing movements of Tai chi with contemporary dance, set to electronic and traditional Chinese music. Sensual and visually striking, it draws you into the rhythm, tension and sheer physical beauty of bodies in motion.

“A polished, visually stunning treat that has sold out at festivals around the world.” - Stir

Taiwan’s HUNG Dance dancers move together like a flock of birds, balancing, twisting and catching one another in striking feats of strength and control. Long pheasant feathers sweep through the air, extending their movements in unexpected ways.

Created by choreographer LAI Hung-chung, Birdy moves between dreamlike beauty and charged physical tension, exploring the desire to break free from whatever holds us back.

Winner of the Special Prize for the Preservation of Humanity Heritage from Italy's NO'HMA Theatre, BIRDY has toured internationally and achieved 20 sold-out performances at the Festival Off Avignon.

“They look, quite simply, super-human.” - Houston Chronicle

“Birdy combines dreamy sensibility with astonishing athleticism” - Pancouver
